The Train Snorer

Everyone once in a while I end up right in front of Snory McSnores on the train. I’m amazed not only at the volume of the snoring, but also at both the speed at which he falls asleep, and his ability to maintain it for pretty much the whole hour ride. Here’s a little taste. Bear in mind this was recorded on my iPhone, which was in my lap, because it would have been a little weird to hold it right up to him.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Update: It seems as though I messed up the edit with the iPhone’s voice memo program, I meant to take a 10 second clip out of the middle, not the beginning. There’s still one or two good ones at the end though.

I want to thank you for getting rid of the login required to post a comment. Yet another login I was destined to never remember. Seems like public transport is providing lots of good material for the new blog. Keep up the good work.

Yea, I ditched the login, but switched to an external commenting service, mostly out of curiosity. I had actually intended to try Intense Debate, since they're owned by the same company that owns WordPress, but there was some bug (which they've since addressed, I believe) when I was trying to set it up, so here we are on Disqus.

You need to isolate and amplify the snoring!

Unfortunately, I'll probably be in front of him again some time soon. When it happens, I'll make sure to get a better clip, then amplify it until I feel it more accurately represents the volume experienced live.
